Adelbert Foster, Skaneateles shows her seated between two friends on the occasion of her 93rd birthday, April 9. 1945. At the left is Mrs Juliette Rounds of New Hope, with Mrs Carrie Cutiter at the right. Mrs Burk, was born on an histori spot in Cayuga County, the early farm settlement of Howland Island, north of Montezuma, northwest of Port Byron. She was the daughter of Ellen Teaehout and William B. Coye. At the age of 17 she married Jesse Foster of Montezuma. Of this union two sons. Adelbert and Jesse Foster were born. But her husband was killed in the woods there when her second son was 12 days old.

[S577] Unknown author, Geneva Daily Times, Mar 20, 1911: Seneca Falls, March 20—Albert West, an old and respected resident of the Town of Tyre, died suddenly Saturday at his home, aged 67. Mr. West was a farmer and had spent, nearly all of his life in the vicinity in which he died. He was a veteran of the Civil War. Ha Is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Brown; three
sons, George and Bert of this place and Jesse of Crusoe Island. The funeral was held today from his late home and banal was in Tyre Cemetery. Rev. M. J. Tells, pastor of
Tyre Methodist church, officiated.
