Leon was a student at the Port Byron High 8chool and was very popular among the young people in Port Byron and Montezuma. , He was a member of the Port Byron High School Band, and was active in sports and other school activities. Stricken with appendicitis Leon was rushed to the Lyons Hospital where an emergency operation was performed. Complications had set In however, and he failed to withstand the ordeal. A large group of students of the local school, including all members cf the band, attended the funeral services in Montezuma. Sunday, to honor the memory of their fellow student. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved family., Surviving Leon are his mother and step-father. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams, and his grandmother. Mrs. Anna Vreeland of Montezuma. Rev. Keller, pastor of the Montezuma M. E. Church, officiated at the funeral services. Interment was made In Mount Pleasant Cemetery in this village.
