Mr. Decker retired in 1986 from Alco Power Inc., where he was a machinist for 35 years. While working at Alco, he drove school bus for the Auburn school district. Mr. Decker was a communicant of SS. Peter & John Episcopal Church and a former member of the Falcon Sportsman's Club Inc. of Sennett. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Binns and her husband Michael of Weedsport, and Maureen Roberts and her husband Bill of Auburn; five sons, Russell Decker Jr., Gregory Decker and his wife Bobbi, Raymond Decker and his wife Jennifer, Charles Decker and his wife Terri, and Matthew Decker and his wife Billie-Joe, all of Auburn; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Mary Greenfield of Fairfax, Va., Edna Pepin of Auburn and Beatrice Foster of Syracuse. He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie McGuire Decker in June 1999; his brother, Nelson; and a sister, Sarah Baran. Visiting hours for Mr. Decker will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St. Private funeral services will be Monday at the convenience of the family, in the funeral home. The Rev. Douglas Taylor-Weiss, rector of SS. Peter and John Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Soule Cemetery, Sennett. Contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
