Cady came to Albion about 1848 and established himself in the tin and crockery and house furnishings business. For many years his success was phenomenal. He established a line of some 20 to 25 peddling wagons, selling crockery, glasss and tinware for cash when he could not get hides, pelts, furs, and rags. His business grew rapidly and his wagons covered the whole of central and southern Michigan. Mr. Cady was a hustler and soon became one of the most prominent businessmen in the country. He married Miss Evalyn A. Clark, New Year's day, 1856. He was a genial, convivial man; always interested in everything that intended to advance the interests and growth of Albion. He went out of business about 1860-61, died by his own hand in Grand Rapids, Michigan a short time after." Wife Evalyn Clark m. 1/1/1856.
