    communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport and retired in 1965 from the Allied
    Chemical Corporation in Solvay where he was employed as a dense ash operator. Mr. O'Brien also served as a special deputy for the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department for many years. His wife, Ruth King O'Brien, died in 1986.
    He is survived by four sons, John (Jack) O'Brien of Weedsport, Thomas J. O'Brien of
    Cato, Raymond O'Brien of Sunnydale, Florida and Joseph O'Brien of Auburn; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Sally) Alnutt of Weedsport; a brother, James O'Brien of Nashau, New Hampshire; two sisters, Mrs. Annabell Ferris and Catherine Barron both of Auburn; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    Family prayer services for Mr. O'Brien will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 21,1988 at the Jewell Funeral Home, South Seneca St., Weedsport and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Weedsport. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Weedsport. Relatives and-friends are invited tc call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening, November 20, 1988 at the funeral home, South Seneca St., Weedsport. Those wishing are asked to make contributions in memory of Mr. O'Brien to the Weedsport Rescue Squad. Jewell Funeral Home-Weedsport.
