A.R., died Sunday, March 26, in Dumont, N. J., where he had been making his home with a daughter, Mrs. William L. Ripley, for about 20 years. Mr. Eldridge was a department commander of New York in 1936. He was also a past commander of Sumner Post, G. A. R., and was Dumont's last surviving member of the Grand Army of the Republic. He was born in Port Byron August 16, 1844. . . . In 1866 he was discharged and returned to Port Byron where in 1867 he married Alice Davenport, who died tor 1919.
